Using decimals to record 80 cm as 0.8 meters

 Ms. Tibbitts' mathematicians have been busy measuring in meters, cm, dm, and mm. They have also been learning how to convert a larger unit to a smaller unit by multiplying, 8 meters = 80 cm.
They converted a smaller unit to a larger unit by writing it as a fraction first, 54 cm is 54/100cm, and then writing the fraction as an equivalent decimal, 54/100cm is 0.54m.
